About kay

• Kay is a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing. She has been a registered nurse for nearly 35 years with involvement in community health and safety education for an equal number of years.

• was head nurse of surgery at IU Medical Center for many years and Rush County school nurse for ten years where she started Basic Life Support education and healthy heart programs for grades 6-12.

• has recently been appointed to the American Heart Association EAst Central Indiana Board of Directors and Co-Chairperson of Operation Heartbeat.

• is the owner of On-Site Health and Safety Training Service which offers staff development programs, in-service training, continuing education and first aid responder certification for healthcare,childcare, business and industrial personnel.

• is a nurse consultant/trainer for St. Vincent and Ball Hospitals. She has worked in three research studies for Indiana University and Krannert Institute of Cardiology advocating Public Access Defibrillation. She conducts OSHA Trainings and Healthcare Provider CPR throughout the state for the Indiana Dental Association and many Dental Offices.

• has been named as an Indiana Childcare Health Consultant by the Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Family and Children.

• received two recognitions from The American Heart Association for Outstanding Performance in Support of Emergency Cardiovascular Care Programs in 2006.

• adjunct Faculty at Ivy Tech State College of Indiana in Marion and Muncie.

awarded Best Training Performance three years in a row by the National Safety Council.
